Day 2 - Sumimasen

It's been a very long productive first day with many activities. Our first stop was at JETRO which is the Japanese foreign direct exchange organization.

The rest of the day was wide open and our group chose to go for a walk around downtown. We came across an Aston Martin store and they even allowed some of us to get into the cars! James Bond would be proud.

After lunch we visited the Imperial Palace which was a fairly brief walking tour. Here are some of the forts from the palace grounds. The tour itself was in Japanese but they gave us little recorded devices that had the tour in english. The picture below is one of the hinges from the massive wooden doors.

Our Next stop was Hibiya park which was under construction but had some very nice views. It seemed like a very active place were people come to enjoy tranquility.

The coolest statue we saw was Ginsu of GODZILLA! Jeremy barely escaped with his life even though Godzilla looks way larger in the movies!

Our final stop was the Ginza district, home of the Tokyo Apple store! Eat your heart out Apple fans.

We had a great time in the Ginza district including playing in a game show, escaping a downpour and taking pictures of the Japanese people. One of the things that stands out about the culture is how well everyone dresses. See for yourself.

Our day wrapped up with a wonderful all-you-can-eat dinner with some Japanese guests. My wife can attest that I am one of the most picky eaters you'll ever meet but I've tried some new delicacies and I've been pleasantly surprised. Off to bed now and another full day tomorrow.
